Abstract Pastel Nail Art Design

Today I'm showing a simple design that I wore earlier this summer. 

I created this look with some of the shades of the Love Affair collection from Pink Gellac, inspired by a design I saw on Pink Gellac's Instagram. As you know I receive their collections as PR samples (not sure how I got on the list!) and it's just so easy to recreate a look when you have all the polishes... 

In other news, not much news. Working from home almost every day, going for walks while listening to audio books (a pandemic activity) and dreaming of travelling!

Idag visar jag en enkel design som jag bar tidigare i somras. Den är målad med ett gäng lack från Love Affair kollektionen från Pink Gellac och är inspirerad av en design från Pink Gellacs Instagram. Som du nog vet får jag deras kollektioner som press prover (vet inte hur jag hamnade på deras lista!) och det är väldans enkelt att återskapa en design om du har exakt samma lack...

I övrigt händer det inte särskilt mycket nytt. Jobbar fortfarande hemifrån nästan varje dag, promenerar och lyssnar på ljudböcker (en upptäckt under pandemin) och drömmer om att resa!

Gold and Hearts Nail Art Design

Last chance to post nail art in August! I've been on vacation for the better part of this month and decided to spend as little time in front of the computer as possible. As my home computer is also my work computer, I really felt like I needed a break from it.

I did these nails just last night, and didn't have too much patience so we have a very simple accent nail. Acrylic paint and matte top coat sums it up pretty well I'd say ^-^.

Polishes used: Dance Legend Caviar Dorado, OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI and Wet'n'Wild Matte top coat

Sista chansen nu att få ut ett inlägg i augusti. Jag har haft sen semester så har varit ledig större delen av denna månad och kände att jag behövde en paus också från datorn. Min hemmadator är också min jobbdator numera så det var skönt att hålla sig borta från den delen av hemmet under ett par veckor. 

Dagens naglar är alldeles färska, jag målade dem igår när vi såg på TV. Det blev inget avancerat utan lite akrylfärg och så matt överlack.

Swirly Rose Nail Art Design

Since I don't paint my nails as often at the moment, when I do paint them I tend to gravitate towards soak off gels, so that I can enjoy my manicures for longer. Here is a design I did for midsummer, a few weeks back.

I have painted all nails with two coats of Pink Gellac Bridal Beige, then swirled two shades of pink together on a piece of paper to form the base for the roses. I applied the mixture with a thin brush and cured in the lamp. Then I added a little bit of extra shimmer to them as well as the tiny leafs. 

The polishes used in this manicure have previously been sent to me for review by Pink Gellac. When doing this manicure I also tried out two new products that have been sent to me by Pink Gellac, the Vita Primer and the Vita Base. They did not work well for me at all, as you can see from the fifth picture, the nail colour is lifting from the nail, and this just 48 hours after painting the design. I used the same base combination on my mom and sister and they had similar issues. So I would advice you to stay clear of that base combination!

Polishes used: Pink Gellac Bridal Beige, Pink Gellac Rockstar Red, Pink Gellac Radiant White, Pink Gellac Glamorous Peach and Pink Gellac Gentle Jade.

Då jag inte målar mina naglar lika ofta just nu så blir det ofta gellack när jag väl målar. Detta för att kunna njuta av målade naglar lite längre. Den här manikyren gjorde jag för midsommar, för ett par veckor sen.

Jag har målat alla naglar med två lager av Bridal Beige, sen har jag lagt två nyanser av rosa på en bit papper och halvblandat dem innan jag plockade upp färgen med en tunn pensel och målade rosorna. Dessa har sen härdat i lampa innan jag la på lite extra skimrande färg samt målade de små löven.

Lacken i denna manikyr har tidigare skickats till mig för recension av Pink Gellac. När jag målade manikyren passade jag också på att testa ett par nya basprodukter de skickat mig, Vita Primer och Vita Base. De var dock riktigt dåliga. På bild fem ser man hur lacket släppt från nageln, och detta efter bara 48 timmar. Jag använde samma bas-kombination på min mamma och syster också, och de är lika besvikna med manikyrer som inte ens håller en vecka. Rekommenderar alltså att man undviker dessa!

Pink Gellac Love Affair Collection - swatches and review

In the beginning of June I received the latest collection from Pink Gellac in the mail. The Love Affair Collection consist of five shades, with four being very discreet, and one a bit more colourful. Here are my swatches of the collection, that was sent to me for review by Pink Gellac. All opinions are my own.

First up is Decent White, number 319, a creamy white that covers in just two coats. This is almost paper white, but with a drop or two of gray, making it slightly easier to wear. If you're looking for a white/almost white, this is a great choice!

Next up is Powder Pink, number 320, which is just a bit more colourful than the white above. The colour leans quite apricot for a pink. It also covers in two coats. 

Now for my favourite of the collection, number 321, Satin Pink. This is a gorgeous shimmer that covers in three coats. It is similar to Radiant White (304) from the Boudoir Charm collection earlier this year, but this has a more peachy base, where that one had a white base. Somehow the effect is less golden/yellow compared to 304, but you still get all the shimmer.

Then we have a shimmer of the more discreet variety. 322 Sparkle Peach is a light peachy shade with a barely there shimmer (two coats). The shimmer is silvery making the shade more cool, but since it's so sparse it doesn't affect the colour all that much.

Finally a different colour! This is 323, Gentle Jade, another two-coater. The green colour is slightly dusky/muted, and leans quite cold. Its colour-intensity is similar to 284 Spring Green, but that has a lot of yellow in it, where this is much colder.

Här kommer bilder på den senaste kollektionen från Pink Gellac, som landade i min brevlåda i början på juni. Love Affair kollektionen består av fem lack, varav fyra är väldigt diskreta, och det femte har åtminstone lite färg. Lacken har skickats till mig från Pink Gellac, men det är förstås mina egna åsikter jag skriver om.

Retro Blue Floral Manicure

I have decided to accept that my attention is currently not 100 percent focused on nails, and therefore I will blog sporadically, when I feel like it. Since I last posted, S and I bought our first car, so we are now mobile in a Covid-safe way! It feels great, and the pain of street parking hasn't quite struck yet ^-^.

These nails are apparently from April, so they've been sitting on the camera's memory card for a while before I got round to editing and now posting. Since then I've lost track of whose manicure I was inspired by, so I can't link and give credit, but will just say that this is inspired by someone on Instagram.

Polishes used: Models Own Inky Blue and OPI My Vampire is Buff

Jag har beslutat mig för att acceptera att jag just nu bara har lust att blogga ibland, lite sporadiskt. Mitt fokus är på andra saker så det får bli inlägg när andan faller på. Sen mitt sista inlägg har S och jag köpt oss vår första bil, så vi är nu mobila på ett Covid-säkert sätt! Det känns jätteroligt, och besväret med att parkera på gatan har inte riktigt hunnit landa än ^-^.

Dagens naglar är från i april, så det har fått hänga på kamerans minneskort ett tag innan jag nu editerat och lägger upp dem på bloggen. Under den tiden har jag slarvat bort inspirationsbilden jag utgick från, så kan tyvärr inte säga något om vem som gjort originalet, bara att jag hittat det på Instagram (förstås).

Pink Gellac Safari Collection - swatches

Another Pink Gellac review from me today. I have been sitting on these pictures for some months, and as I personally like to look at swatches before buying polish, I figured I better get these published. Hopefully they can help someone decide if they need to add any of these to their collection, if they already have some similar shades.

I received this collection earlier this year (but the opinions on my blog are just mine), and was surprised by the unexpected colours. A collection with two yellow tones and no pinks? Quite a bold move, but so much fun!

Let's jump right in. First is number 314, Lion Yellow, the lighter yellow of the collection. It is a mustard tone, and my second picture shows it more correctly than the first I would say. It is darker and more muted than Pink Gellac 289 Breeze Yellow from the Festival Summer collection. I'm wearing three coats.

Next up is 315 Camel Gold, the darker yellow that is a lot more brown really. I'm wearing two coats. This is not a shade I would wear on all nails like this, the colour is a bit too weird honestly, but it could be useful for nail art in combination with other shades.

Next up we have two coats of Jungle Green, 316. This is similar in saturation to Graceful Green (309) from the winter collection I posted just the other day, but this leans much warmer. I think Graceful Green is more elegant, but this one might be easier to wear and more flattering on my skin tone. 

Forth from the collection is the aptly named Star Sky Black, number 317. This really looks like a starry night sky, with a dark pewter base and plenty of silver shimmer particles. I'm wearing two coats. This is my favourite from the collection.

Finally we have a nude/beige tone that might be a bit too similar to my skin tone to look good on me. Like the rest of the collection, it's a warm beige shade with some yellow tones. I'm wearing three coats.

Blir ett till inlägg med swatcher från en Pink Gellac kollektion. Har suttit på dessa bilder ett par månader och då jag själv gärna tittar på bilder på just bloggar innan jag handlar lack så tänker jag att någon kanske blir klokare av detta inlägg. Vid det här laget har jag ju publicerat en del swatch-inlägg så kan ju till och med beskriva hur de förhåller sig till andra lack från Pink Gellac.

Dessa lack är skickade till mig från PG som press-prover eller vad det nu kallas, men självklart beskriver jag mina egna åsikter om lacken. Jag måste säga att jag blev överraskad när denna kollektion damp ner i brevlådan, Det finns två gula lack, och inte ett enda rosa! Roligt val och rätt modigt då det känns som de flesta företag fokuserar på de där lättsålda färgerna.
